What our clients are saying

Our customers love working with us

Thousands of homeowners have a brand new kitchen to show for two days of work. Here is what a few of them had to say.

“My husband and I had our cabinets refaced by Express Reface. From start with Natalie who presented the project, to Xavier who measured the cabinets, to Raquel and Kelvin who made the project come to life, was easy. First day they taped everything off to control the dust, sanded the cabinets and as promised there was hardly any dust! Next day new cabinet doors placed and everything cleaned up and our beautiful kitchen was done in 2 days! Raquel and Kelvin went above and beyond to give us the kitchen that Express Reface promised us.”

“Express Reface did an outstanding job on our cabinet refacing project. The work was completed fast — in just two days, exactly as promised. Their attention to detail and the quality of workmanship were superb. The cabinets look brand new and completely updated the look of our kitchen. We are very happy with the results and would highly recommend them.”

“I don't typically deal in absolutes but working with Express Reface was the best contractor experience I've ever had. The process end to end was very efficient and timely. We're delighted with the results, especially since we feel we got a lot more for the money than if we'd done this through another contractor. Issues and questions we had were all addressed to our satisfaction. We will need to have new cabinets built for a large bathroom remodel in the future and I would definitely use Express Reface again.”
Jim Napier4 months ago
“From start to finish, everyone was on time and the work was exactly what we ordered and expected. A big benefit is having the work done in two days (refacing). We especially appreciate your professionals: Xavier, Carlos, Juan, Rolando, and Raquel. Every cabinet door, every drawer, all lined up perfectly. The new drawers open all the way too. Lastly, the price is a good third or fourth of what we would pay for new cabinets.”

“I have lived in my house for eight years and never liked the look of the kitchen. I saw a commercial for Express Reface and decided to go online to get one of their instant quotes. So glad I did.”

“Best money I have ever spent!! My vintage 1978 cabinets are now beautiful and updated — they look totally new! All, from sales to schedulers to installers, were polite, efficient, and extremely helpful! I can't say enough good about the experience.”

“Amazed!!!! Kitchen and master bath cabinet doors and drawer fronts replaced and bases repainted. The laminate coatings look built to last.”

Straight answers

Common questions.

Everything you need to know about refacing, timelines, pricing, and what to expect — grouped so you can jump straight to what matters.

Refacing basics

What refacing actually is — and how it differs from painting or refinishing.

What is cabinet refacing?
Cabinet refacing transforms the visible parts of your kitchen while keeping the existing cabinet boxes and layout. Your project includes new custom doors, new drawer fronts, upgraded drawer boxes, soft-close hinges and glides, new hardware, and professionally refinished cabinet faces to match.
What's the difference between refacing and refinishing?
Refinishing updates the finish or color of the existing cabinet doors and drawer fronts. Refacing goes further. It includes brand-new doors and drawer fronts, updated hardware, soft-close hinges and glides, and refinished cabinet faces to match.
How does painting compare to cabinet refacing?
Painting might seem less expensive, but it does not update your door style, hinges, drawers, or hardware. Poor preparation can lead to chipping, and a professional paint job can cost nearly as much as refacing. Not every cabinet material, including some laminates, is suitable for painting. Refacing delivers a brand-new look, improved durability, and upgraded functionality in as little as two days.
Why choose refacing rather than painting?
Refacing changes more than color. It gives you new doors, drawer fronts, soft-close hardware, updated hardware, and a factory-finished look while preserving the cabinet boxes and layout you already have. It is an easier way to move from dated to updated without a long demolition remodel.
Do you replace cabinet doors and drawers?
Yes. Your project includes new custom doors, new drawer fronts, upgraded drawer boxes, soft-close hinges and glides, and new hardware.

Is refacing right for me?

How to tell if your cabinets are a good candidate for a transformation.

Is cabinet refacing a good option for old cabinets?
Yes, if the cabinet boxes are structurally sound and you are happy with the basic layout. Refacing is designed to give an older kitchen a completely updated look without the cost and disruption of replacing everything.
Is cabinet refacing right for everyone?
Refacing is ideal for homeowners whose cabinet boxes are in good condition and whose kitchen layout still works for their needs. If you want to move walls, relocate plumbing, dramatically change the footprint, or replace damaged cabinet boxes, a full remodel may be a better fit.
Can I just replace my kitchen cabinet doors and hinges?
You can, but refacing is a more complete transformation. It includes new doors and drawer fronts, soft-close hinges and glides, new hardware, and refinished cabinet faces so the entire kitchen has a cohesive, finished look.
Can Express Reface work on my unpainted wood cabinets?
Yes. We can transform unpainted wood cabinets when the boxes are structurally sound. You can update the look with a new door style, finish, hardware, and professionally refinished cabinet faces.
Are there any materials that can't be refaced?
Most structurally sound cabinet boxes can be evaluated for refacing. Cabinets that are severely damaged, unstable, water-damaged, or not suitable for a secure, lasting installation may require repair or replacement instead. Your Design Consultant will assess your cabinets during the consultation.
Can you reface laminate cabinets?
Possibly. New laminate can be used to reface your cabinets as long as the existing laminate is solid, clean, and securely attached. If you are unsure whether your cabinets are a good candidate for refacing, contact us and our team will be happy to help.

Design & visualization

Explore door styles, colors, and finishes before you ever book a visit.

Can I change the color and style of my cabinets?
Yes. Choose a new door style, color, hardware, and finish to create a look that fits your home. RefaceStudio™ can help you begin exploring possibilities before your consultation.
What is RefaceStudio™?
RefaceStudio™ is our design and visualization tool. Upload a photo of your kitchen, explore cabinet styles and finishes, and start seeing what your updated space could look like.

Timeline & process

What the two-day install looks like and how little disruption to expect.

How long does cabinet refacing take?
Our kitchen jobs are completed in two days. Most standard transformations are installed on-site over that time, with design, measurement, and production handled beforehand.
Will I have to live through a demolition remodel?
No. Refacing is designed to avoid the extensive demolition, construction mess, and weeks of disruption commonly associated with a full kitchen remodel.
Will I have to remove my countertops, flooring, backsplash, or appliances?
Usually, no. Because your existing cabinet boxes stay in place, many homeowners are able to keep their existing countertops, backsplash, flooring, plumbing, and appliances. If you would like to update countertops or make other changes, we can discuss those options during your consultation.
Do I need permits for cabinet refacing?
Cabinet refacing typically does not require the demolition, construction, or permitting associated with a full kitchen remodel. If your project includes additional construction or changes beyond refacing, we will discuss those details with you.
What happens after I decide to move forward?
Once your design and scope are finalized, your designer sends you a contract to get the project started. Our team then schedules a professional measure check to capture the exact measurements for manufacturing, and from there we get you on the calendar for install. Manufacturing takes about two weeks, so from the time you say yes to your new kitchen to installation is typically about three weeks.

Countertops & upgrades

Add countertops, storage, and even bathroom vanities to your project.

Can you replace my countertops too?
Yes. Countertops can be included as part of your kitchen transformation. We can help you compare materials, colors, and finishes based on your style, lifestyle, and budget.
Is quartz a good countertop choice?
Quartz is durable, low-maintenance, stain-resistant, and available in consistent colors and patterns. It is a popular choice for busy kitchens because it is designed for everyday use and does not require the maintenance of natural stone.
Can I add storage or organization upgrades?
Yes. We can discuss options such as pull-out storage, drawer upgrades, organization accessories, and other functionality improvements during your consultation.
Do you offer bathroom vanity updates?
Yes. We offer bathroom vanity transformations with new doors, drawers, hardware, and updated finishes. It is an easy way to refresh a dated bathroom without a full renovation.

Pricing, financing & warranty

How estimates work, what drives cost, and how to pay for your project.

What affects the cost of cabinet refacing?
Pricing depends on the size of your kitchen, the number of doors and drawers, cabinet condition, door style and finish, hardware, panels, islands, storage upgrades, countertops, repairs, and any custom work. Your consultation and written proposal will outline the exact scope and investment.
Is refacing less expensive than a full remodel?
Yes! For homeowners who are happy with their current layout, refacing is often a more affordable way to achieve a completely updated kitchen without replacing cabinet boxes, moving plumbing, or taking on a lengthy demolition project.
How do I get an estimate?
Start with InstantPrice™ for a quick online estimate. Then schedule a consultation so we can review your space, confirm the scope, take measurements, and provide a personalized proposal.
What happens during the consultation?
We will review your goals, inspect your cabinets, take measurements, discuss styles and finishes, look at hardware and storage options, review countertop choices if applicable, and provide a written proposal for your project.
Is financing available?
Yes. Financing is available for qualified customers. Ask your Design Consultant about current options during your consultation.
What warranty comes with my project?
Your written proposal will include the warranty details for your specific project, including the products and work included in your transformation.
